Webinar Career Masterclass: The Role of Jugaad in Building Your Career

About the Webinar

Jugaad, the principle of frugal innovation, has become a popular concept for management and development professionals. “Hackathon” has even become the standard term for rapid prototyping and development. But when it comes to building a successful career, when should you turn from frugality to more in-depth effort? When does cutting corners become cutting yourself off from success?

Join us on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at 9 PM IST (8:30 AM PDT / 11:30 AM EDT) for a career masterclass by T.N. Hari, Head of HR at BigBasket and author of “Saying No To Jugaad: The Making of Bigbasket.” Hari will give you insights into when and how to apply jugaad in your career - and when not to - including:

  • Setting priorities when building a successful career
  • Jugaad in start-up careers: creating opportunities and barriers
  • The role for jugaad in a corporate career
  • When to be frugal, and when to invest your resources

The live webinar will include a Q&A with Hari. (If you register and can’t make the live webinar, we will send you a link to the recording after the event.)

About the Speaker

Hari spent the first 14 years of his career at Tata Steel in engineering on the shop floor, procurement, and corporate planning, ending up in HR.  He helped restructure the company to cope with post-liberalization challenges.  He then moved on to high-growth start-ups and played a key role in shaping their growth and exit.

In the last 5 years, Hari has been an advisor and sounding board to numerous young entrepreneurs and startups. He is a prolific author: his latest book is “Saying No to Jugaad – The Making of Bigbasket.” LinkedIn has identified him as one of the Top Voices in India for three years in a row (2016, 2017, and 2018).
